The Henderson County Family YMCA seeks to provide the highest quality day camp designed to strengthen values, cultivate self-esteem, and improve skills that help children grow into strong leaders while having fun. We give campers opportunities to be leaders, followers, teachers and students by creating an environment of creativity and educational challenges in the great outdoors that encourage YMCA values of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility. In our "traditional" day camps, boys and girls, ages 6 to 12, can explore great experiences and adventures, make new friends, swim, create, play, hike, climb, explore and more!
The YMCA has built a reputation of providing day camp programs that are safe, supervised and engage children in activities that keep their minds and bodies active during the summer months. Our Traditional camp offers activities such as swim lessons, recreational swim, sports and arts & crafts . Today, however, many of our campers are looking for more and the Y is meeting that challenge with developing new specialty camp. Our character shows in our behavior -- how we practice our values. The YMCA develops character by demonstrating and teaching the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
